DeWaal Screw Piles About Technology
Installing screw piles requires drilling a steel tube with a displacement bulge causing a lateral displacement of the soil in a characteristic shape of a thread.
The tube is capped with a sacrificial shoe which remains under the toe of the pile after the required depth has been reached.
A reinforcement cage can be placed inside the tube so that the pile will be reinforced along the entire length. Reinforcement may also be inserted after the concreting stage.
Concreting screw piles begins once the final depth has been reached whilst retracting the auger under anti-clockwise rotation. The structure of the bulge causes the soil to be displaced in the shape of a thread.
